QJF COMPETITION „ST. JADWIGA’S PEARLS”, POLAND

QJF competition „Queen Jadwiga’s little pearl” in which participated students from Queen Jadwiga’s Family of Schools, has been closed. Every year 10 students from the Family of Schools are awarded with Queen Jadwiga’s little pearl. Among those students there are 3 laureates who are awarded with statue Queen Jadwiga’s pearl”.

Students nominated to „Queen Jadwiga’s little pearl” should fulfill the following conditions:

(1) to be especially gifted in one or more domains

(2) to achieve very good results at school

(3) to protect weaker colleagues

(4) to show initiative in helping less gifted colleagues

(5) to be highly engaged in the “life” of the Catholic Church

Condition (5) is essential. From the other four conditions it is enough to fulfill two of them. The detailed “set of rules” was elaborated by Ms. M. Grzankowska and L. Krzyżosiak (described below).

7.               Adam Miernik                   (uczen gimnazjum)

8.               Joanna Bernach                 (uczen gimnazjum)

9.               Katarzyna Majer                (uczen liceum)

10.            Klaudia Kocyk                  (uczen liceum)

 

Pearls awarded in the year 2007

Pearls have been sent to Cardinal S. Diziwisz to Wawel Cathedral, Krakow and will be used to make a replica of Racjonal.

Remaining 15 pearls have been awarded for achievements inspired by St. Jadwiga Queen.

Here are three laureates for the year 2007, selected from ten nominated students:

- Jakub Żegleń (SP)

- Adam Miernik (Gimnazjum)

- Klaudia Kocyk (Liceum)

Pearle-statues have been handed over to laureates in the Wawel Cathedral on 8 June 2007 during the I Meeting of the Family of School of St, Jadwiga Queen.
